THE DREAM!
THE JOURNEY!
July 21, 2011 Colleen’s dream was realized and her journey began. From the Arch to the Apple, 1000 miles in 65 days. No days off. No breaks from running. It was important to Colleen to get the message out that those living with CF get No Days Off and No Breaks from hours of treatments and handfuls of pills each day to be able to breathe like you and me.
Katie says in this video clip “my siblings and my parents have done so many amazing things and just given me that drive and determination to not let CF hold me back.” Really, Katie has given all of us the inspiration to live our lives with gratitude and positive energy, to do what it takes to fight for a cure for Katie and for all those living with CF. Our fundamental belief that Nothing is Impossible guides us and so many other CF families, volunteers, doctors, nurses, CFF staff and researchers to Not Stop Until It Is Done.
Come along with us as we celebrate Colleen’s Run for Roses 10th Anniversary! Colleen’s dream, inspiration and courage guided her to embark on this journey to spread awareness, share stories and raise funds for a cure. Her journey was made into a documentary short, ‘Rose Compass’ and was viewed at three film festivals across the country. It continues to inspire, motivate and recruit folks to join in our mission to facilitate a better, healthier life for 30,000 children and adults living with CF in the US.
