Mission
In February 2011, the Caul family founded The Rose Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, whose mission is to spread awareness, share stories and raise the essential funds to support the ground-breaking research for cystic fibrosis (CF) until there is a cure. The Rose Foundation will do everything in its power to support cystic fibrosis research until CF stands for Cure Found.
The Rose Foundation’s inaugural event was Run for Roses – From the Arch to the Apple, a 65-day pilgrimage from St. Louis to New York City, to spread awareness, raise funds and share stories of CF. Colleen Caul, in honor of her sister, Katie Rose, embarked from St. Louis on July 21, 2011, and arrived in New York City on September 23, 2011. Throughout her 1,000 mile journey, Colleen made stops in multiple cities to fundraise and spread awareness by performing a theatrical piece sharing stories of growing up in a family with CF. Colleen’s run raised over $42,000 for CF research.
The Rose Foundation continues its mission through Team Run for Roses, a charity team to raise awareness and funds to further research for a cure.
The funds raised by The Rose Foundation support the Gateway Chapter of The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
